Ingredients:
note : Add vegetables of your choice and also try with Oats instead of Aval
- Aval (Puffed rice) - 1 cup
- Urulai Kizhangu (Potato) - 1 big size
- Carrot - 1 no
- Pachcha milagai (Green mirchi) - 1 or 2 (according to taste)
- Vengayam (Onion) - 1 no
- Inji- Poondu Vizhudhu (Ginger-Garlic paste) - 1 tbsp
- Karuve pillai (Curry leaves)
- Koththamali Thazhai (Coriander)
- Manja thool (Turmeric powder)- a pinch
- Milagai thool (Red mirchi powder) - 1 tbsp
- Sombhu (fennel seeds) - 1 tea spoon (powdered)
- Garam masala - a pinch
- oil - a small cup.
Method: (cooked in medium flame)
- Clean the Aval and soak for 5 minutes and drain it.
- Boil urulai kizhangu and smash it.
- Shred Carrot ,Vengayam ,Pachcha milagai .
- In a bowl add drained Aval, smashed Kizhangu and the vegetables.
- Mix well without adding water.
- Now add Inji- poondu paste, salt, Garam masala, Manja thool, Milagai thool, Sombhu, koththamalli ,Karuvepillai.
- Mix them and make it as a dough.
- No need to add water.
- Make small flat pieces and cook in a tawa by adding oil.(add little oil).
- Turn upside down till it is fully cooked.
- Aval cutlet is ready .
Serve with Green chutney or sauce.
